At Portable Chef I try to put out the best ingredients, cooked the best way I know how. When you’re ready to eat yours, proper reheating is critical.
If you’re pressed for time, here’s all you need to know about how to reheat a Portable Chef meal:
That’s it in a nutshell. Whether you use a microwave, stovetop, or conventional oven, only heat the food up enough to heat it through. Any more than that, and you risk having an overcooked meal. And nobody wants that.
Here are some more specifics:
Remove your meal to a serving plate. Microwave on high for one minute; check for doneness. Your meals are done the instant they are heated through. Continue to cook and check in 20-second increments until just heated through.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove your meal to an oven-proof plate and cover tightly with foil. Put meal in oven for 6 minutes; check for doneness. Continue to cook and check in 4-minute increments until heated through.
Remove your meal from plastic container and place it in a small pot or pan with a tight-fitting lid. Add a few drops of water. Put burner on medium, bring to a simmer, then reduce to low, cover, and cook for 4 minutes; check for doneness. Continue to cook and check in 32-minute increments until just heated through.
